WACO, Texas —

The Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce has acknowledged the recent rise in unemployment numbers and they encourage area job seekers to register for their upcoming virtual event, Find Your Waco Jobs Spotlight. The spotlight is scheduled for Wednesday at 2 p.m.

The series complements the talent and workforce component of the Find Your Waco Initiative that launched in October 2019. Each event will highlight jobs that are available throughout the community.

During each event in the series, hiring representatives from the participating member businesses will give a short overview of their companies and discuss their current job openings, the required skills and experience to apply, benefits offered, and the application process.

“I’ve spoken with several organizations amid the pandemic and learned there is an urgent need to fill a wide range of positions within their companies. The Waco Supporting Waco COVID-19 Employer Response page on our WacoTxJobs website includes an ongoing list of these employers. The goals for this series are to further spotlight these positions for job seekers that possess varying skill levels, let applicants hear directly from employers about the positions, and ultimately connect a viable candidate with a potential new employer,” Director of Existing Industries & Workforce Development for the Waco Chamber Jennifer Branch said.

The four participating employers will be publicly announced early next week. The Find Your Waco Jobs Spotlight series will be held on Zoom and recordings will be available after each event on the Waco Chamber website and talent portal.
