Texas DPS: Lampasas crash leaves one driver with serious injuries

One driver was flown to Seaton Wilco by Careflight air ambulance. Their condition is unknown at this time.

LAMPASAS COUNTY, Texas — Texas DPS Troopers were alerted of a major injury crash on Oct. 7 between two cars in Lampasas.

Around 9:56 a.m., a 1994 Ford Ranger pick-up, operated by a 76-year-old man from Lampasas, TX, was traveling westbound on the shoulder of the roadway and was slowing down, according to a press release.

For reasons unknown, the driver of the Ford made an unsafe U-turn and turned directly into the path of a 1984 Kenworth dump truck that was operated by a 29-year-old man.

The dump truck was originally approaching the Ford from behind traveling westbound in the outside lane when it tried to avoid the crash, as stated in the press release. The driver of the Ford was seriously injured and flown to Seaton Wilco by Careflight air ambulance.

There were no other injuries reported, and the condition of the driver is unknown at this time.
