1. 14 Killeen residents uninjured, displaced after fourplex fire

Killeen firefighters worked for 30 minutes to put out a fire at a fourplex in Killeen around 3:30 a.m. Thursday. No injuries were reported and the 14 residents have been displaced from their home. Officials know the cause of the fire.

2. Killeen track coach admits to sexually assaulting minor during college visit to Tulsa

Kerry Sloan, a 56-year-old private track coach and retired U.S. Army sergeant first class from Killeen, said in a plea agreement that he sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl during an out-of-state trip, according to the Department of Justice in a press release. 3. Family of Temple woman killed in double homicide starts petition to change Texas protective order laws

Jonathan Scott, the father of a Jenna Scott, a Temple woman who was killed after she was denied a protective order against a man now charged with murder, has started a petition calling for changes to Texas protective order laws. The petition was published online Monday and now has over 1,500 signatures.

4. Waco ISD superintendent resigns in wake of marijuana charge

The Waco Independent School District Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, where its possible an interim superintendent will be named. This comes a week after the resignation of Dr. Marcus Nelson after he was arrested on a misdemeanor marijuana charge on March 6. 5. Gov. Abbott directs Texas universities to investigate policies after admissions bribery scandal

Michael Center, the former University of Texas head tennis coach, is due in court Thursday and expected to plead not guilty for his alleged role in the college admissions scandal. Center was fired from his position for allegedly agreeing to accept $100,000 from a bribe in exchange to designate a student as a recruit for the tennis team. Read more.
