WACO, Texas — On Wednesday, the Waco Police Department released the identity of the 16-year-old boy who was shot to death on Brookview Drive.
Police identified the teen as Justin Sharp.
One neighbor says she heard at least seven or eight gunshots and called 911 right after.
"I looked out my door, and I saw the boy laying down in the grass. He had his head up, he was gasping for air. I asked him, 'baby, are you ok' and his head dropped," Jessica Hicks said.
Sharp was found with a "severe gunshot wound," according to Waco PD. First responders brought him to a local-area hospital where he later died, police said.
At this time, there is no information about a suspect.
“This is a cowardly act of gun violence resulting in the tragic loss of yet another teenager in our community," said Chief Sheryl Victorian.
